What will you receive?

The toolkit provided for all options is divided into sections reflective of the steps in the ADDIE Model of Educational Design, which allows participants to really bring their learning to life through practical and experiential application.

  1. Analyse

Consider the environment and identify existing knowledge, skills, and behaviours.

Key questions you might ask include:

  • Who is the audience and what is their current level of capability?
  • What skills, knowledge, and behaviours are required?
  • What business objectives will a learning program fulfil?
  • What challenges, barriers, or constraints exist?
  • How can the learning program be delivered?
  • What are the timeframes?
  • Who are the key stakeholders and how do they want to be kept informed?

The following documents are provided to support the Analyse phase:

  • Learning Needs Analysis template
  • Learning Needs Analysis – Guide for completion
  • Learning Needs Analysis Summary template

  1. Design

Using information from the Analyse phase, you can start to storyboard the solution and really get creative – in a logical and structured way!

Here is where we define the learning outcomes, assessment methods, engaging activities, and high-level content and media

The key output from this phase is a High-Level Design, which is the ‘content map’ listing all content, activities, and resources required.

The following documents are provided to support the Design phase:

  • Learning Strategy template
  • High Level Design template (for face-to-face learning)
  • eLearning Storyboard template
  • Activity examples

  1. Develop

In this phase we are developing all materials needed to deliver the program. Draft versions are reviewed by key stakeholders and final feedback is incorporated to produce pilot-ready materials.

The following documents are provided to support the Develop phase:

  • Assessment template
  • Facilitator Guide template
  • Learner Workbook template
  • PowerPoint Deck template
  • Job Aid template
  • Leader Support Guide template
  • Review and Sign-Off template
  • Icon library

  1. Implement

Time to road-test our solution! In this phase, as well as running the program, we might run workshops to upskill inhouse Facilitators or to engage and educate leaders on the key role they’ll play in the success of the program.

The following documents are provided to support the Implement phase:

  • Train the Trainer template

  1. Evaluate

Now we review the effectiveness of the program and materials to see if we ‘hit the mark’. We use both a formative and summative evaluation strategy during this phase.

The following documents are provided to support the Implement phase:

  • Questionnaire templates
  • Focus Group template
  • Observation Checklist template
  • Evaluation Report template

What participants say

This ADDIE Toolkit has been a lifesaver! After having worked as a Lead Instructional Designer in a large organisation for many years, I decided to go out on my own. I was daunted by the fact that I didn’t have my own templates, however this toolkit gave me all that I needed. I changed the logos, then I was ready for business!

Margaret

I recommend the ADDIE Toolkit to any Instructional Designer that is looking for elegant and easy to use templates. I have received many complements from my clients since purchasing the Toolkit.

Priya

I was fresh out of completing a Master of Adult and Vocational Education when I got a job as a company’s first in-house Instructional Designer. Having little to no templates to work from, the ADDIE Toolkit was a godsend. The templates and guides within the Toolkit are comprehensive, yet concise. They guide you through the learning design process step by step – perfect for someone with limited experience in the L&D industry. I highly recommend this Toolkit for anyone starting out in Instructional Design.
